Get Passionate About...G often says about me that he loves my passion. It’s one of reasons he fell in love with me – because I get passionate about…

…so many people, places, things.

The ability to get passionate about (whatever) is not a hard thing, nor is it easy, depending. Because there are so many worthwhile (people, places, things) to get passionate about, one can wear oneself out with all the passion at any given time.

On the flip, the easy part is falling madly (passionately) in love with each and every one.

This whole month here at Informed Sharing has been dedicated to four worthy causes that I did get passionate about and in doing so, I invited you to do the same. Throughout this September Month of Giving we have shared quite a story surrounding the needs of these families and the importance of lending a hand at the human level.

But today I’m here to challenge you a different way. As we near the end of September, I need you to realize that even though we won’t be actively discussing these four families here at Informed Sharing after next week, their need for help doesn’t go away. Just because we’ve donated what we could, it doesn’t end their plight. It continues. And so will I, in remaining passionate about their causes. Just less so, loudly.

And I challenge you to get passionate about…

…people. places. things.

Worry Less, Care More
I wrote recently about scams (whether you might be concerned we were running one here) and how to verify the legit factor of anything you may become passionate about. It’s important to know your cause before you become too involved in supporting it, for sure.

One of the key points in all of that was the sad fact that we are becoming a society of “get liked quick” folks and I’m wondering what the real benefit is for any of us. We hop on to the latest viral excitement, like it, share it, and feel better for having done so – without really knowing what good we’ve done FOR the cause.

If you’ve never done this, my sincere apologies for assuming…carry on.

The rest of you? I offer up this challenge to get passionate about…

Get Passionate About...It can be most anything (within reason, logically, legally, morally; please and thank you) you wish – don’t be shy. But just do it. Get passionate. We need to stop hopping on (anything), and start taking a moment to get passionate about (people, places, things) that matter most to us.

Imagine what we could do then with the power to like, share, spread the word, and feel better for having done so?

Just get passionate about…whatever matters most to you! It’s not easy but neither is it all that hard. It may break your heart along the way and sometimes it’s incredibly selfish, too. But in the end, you’ll find that when you get passionate about (whatever) you can make a difference in the lives of those around you and for the betterment of all our lives. YAY!

~ Cheers

  1. Passion is a double-edged sword in that the highs are very high and the lows are the pits. But I prefer being passionate to being numb — I’ve been both and hope not to experience the numbness again.

    • You are right, Deb – I am having a bit of the lows at the moment; due to many things associated with this and a few other happenings in my life at the moment. But I do not want to be numb – been there done that, too. 🙁

  2. Thank you San… I needed to read this today! At times we can all give up on something that makes us who and what we are, and by doing so, we lose our focus on what we should be doing. Thank you for reminding me! Love you Girl!

  3. Yay for passion! I’ve seen so many people I know become so dispassionate lately. But keeping passion is so important to keep the human soul alive. If you’re not passionate about something, you just sort of drift along, and who wants to live like that?
